The video below is just one of many examples of what you can do on camera to enhance your personal brand and deliver your message. And remember, this is important whether you’re promoting your business or building your career. How many other fitness pros out there are using video and social marketing the way you could be to build your career and/or your business? And how would that differentiate you from your competition?

If you’re a business owner or aspiring individual personal trainer trying to build your clientele, be careful. Don’t misunderstand me. Building your personal brand will not magically bring you more business or help you land your dream job. Direct response marketing is still my favorite. And the boys at NPE can help you with all of your needs there. Remember though, your personal brand is an essential part of any marketing campaign, because without it, your marketing is void of the vitality and personality it needs to ensure that you stand out above and beyond your competition.

For example, none of my competitors in town are doing what I’m doing with video. And they will probably never catch up. Some of them have TV spots like I do (after I started the trend 3 years ago), but none of them leverage that coverage the way I do. And I would guess none of them have the plan for how they want to use this exposure like I do. All good for me, but make sure you learn from their mistakes.

There is also one other very important concept about developing your personal brand that I want you to understand. It will help you build your business in two very important ways. Yes, it will help you attract new clients, but even more important is this…

“Effective Personal Branding creates unmatched customer loyalty and even evangelism for you, your product, and your business. ”

Keeping your customer’s attention is essential for your long term success as a fitness business owner. I think we all know how challenging it can be to maximize client lifetime value.

So, ask yourself two questions today…

1) How and what can I do to further develop my personal brand?

2) How can I use more video and a blog to reach more potential customers, deepen my connection with current customers, and have a little more fun?

Here is an example. Look for more of these soon…

Many of us park out personalities between 9 and 5 PM. Especially if we have a regular job. We often wait until we’re out with friends to let our wings expand and our hearts sing with originality. Why do we do this? Safety, I guess. We are all a little afraid of what might happen when we make a bonfire of our reputation and bring what makes us unique to every conversation, meeting, project and agenda.

The truth is that every one of us has a unique set of gifts and contributions that we are here to deliver to the world. And if you are hiding your personality and your instincts from everyone, those gifts will remain unwrapped. There is nobody on this planet who can provide exactly what you provide. Think about that for a minute or too, or longer if you need to. Because that is what will make your personal brand stand out, sing and help you celebrate the gift of life. The gift of who we are.

I’ll have more on this later. Just wanted to share a few quick thoughts on the subject before I head into my evening with clients at the studio…
