247,000 + Recipes? Really…
Note to fitness pros…I posted the following on my fitness blog earlier today. I posted it here by accident first so I thought I would just leave it since I’m a little light on posts this week. Let me know what you think…

I’ve been playing around on the web site, SparkPeople this week. I do this as often as I can on various sites because it helps me in working on mine.
This one I like because it has a good community feel to it. Unfortunately, most of the sites I’ve looked at like this one disappoint me in other ways.
Something occurred to me today when I logged in and looked at their recent ‘recipe activity.’ They give a running list on a daily basis of how many recipes have been added today and in general. Today they have more than 247,000 recipes in their database!
I know this is supposed to sound impressive and at first glance it might to you. The problem is that for most, this is completely overwhelming. In addition, MOST of these recipes have been added by individual users of the site which means MOST of them are not designed to do what mine and Sara’s are, which is to rev up your metabolism, help you build muscle, and even triple your current energy level.
Especially early on in a training program, it is vital to keep things simple. You are attempting to make lots of changes in short amount of time and you really can’t afford distractions.
What do I mean by distractions?
Try a running count of 36,223 snacks for starters…
